I attack. (12-4)x5 = 40 + 29 = 69 damage.
I take 10 dmg from the ability.

everytime you attack, you take 10 damage. So if you have a BL of 5, you take 50 damage

I use Smokey to increase my attack to 13 (PP:70). I use Light Ray to decrease Freaky Bird's defense to 10 (PP:60).
I attack once. (13-10) = 3 damage
Then I use Smokey again (PP:55). And I attack again. (15-10) = 5 damage
I use Smokey again (PP:50). I also use Breezy to increase my B. Lv. to 6 (PP:40). I attack with my remaining 4 times. (17-10)x4 = 28 damage. I then use Fanatic Flare for 5 dmg + 30 dmg.

Total dmg: 3+5+28+35 = 72 dmg
